Google's +1 Experiment In Social Media
"Hi Beatrice, I think it's a good idea to incorporate people (like) into search, and would imagine that this is probably the first of a series of moves by Google in this direction. Google does search well, but by incorporating it's users in an intelligent way, it can potentially make searching for information and people much easier. I take your point about liking a website before you've seen it, which seems illogical to me too, that said I'm finding that I'm depending more and more of my online communities and connections when needed info, so If Google succeeds in bringing search and social together in an intelligent way, It's on to a winner in my book!"Before You Grow, What's In Your Strategic Plan?
"Hi Elli, I think this is what just happened here at Bloggertone. We've looked at where we would like to take the community and site, what's already working and what's not, where we need to get to in the next few months and the longer-term opportunity that exists for everyone, readers, bloggers an the founders. We are already starting to see some pay offs as a result of undertaking this exercise. Thanks for sharing, Niall"An Expensive Lesson In Domain Names
"Hi Anita, Welcome to Bloggertone, I am delighted that you joined us. It's a great story, if expensive one but congratulations on your honesty! Choosing and deciding on a domain name for a new business, is now such a big challenge but it remains hugely critical in terms of branding. Strange as it sounds, It gives the rest of us hope when we hear someone like you can make mistakes too! Thank you for sharing. "What Have Tomatoes Got To Do With Productivity?
"Sounds interesting Frank! I know from training people that 25 mins is about as long as humans to appear to be able to concentrate. By taking lots of breaks, you actually end up increasing the productivity within the space. The biggest obstacle to running training progammes in this fashion is guess who? Management of course! Who will worry that this technique has the opposite effect. It amazes me how companies continue to completely remain uneducated as to getting their employees to be more productive. Sales, where I have a lot of experience is notorious in that most sales teams spend vasts amounts of time on the wrong tasks, largely because they are expected to the management. It's a strange world sometimes :)"So You Wanna Be...
"To remind yourself about where you want to be, I think it's always worth remembering what it was that you wanted to do at the very start. Most business people allow their businesses to make them forget. When times are tougher, the answers to a lot of the questions above are in revisiting that first motivation, those initial reasons why?"Work At Home, Live At Home, Get Me Out Of Here!
"Hi Roisin, great post, the tone of which is one that so many of us can identify with. Congratulations on your new endeavour, and I agree I think it's critical when one spends a lot of time alone to join clubs etc so that we have a social outlet. Thanks for sharing, Niall"Location Based Mobile Marketing: The New Reality
"I read somewhere that bringing the internet to the developing world is and will be done exclusively through the use of mobile technology, which very much ties in with what you are saying in this post. The potential is already big but as you point out, but it's about to get truly enormous!"Do or Die Marketing Plan: Begin With Your Brand
"Love this post and great questions! "Think about your brand as though it were a person" I've never thought about it like that before but it's so true, I'm already seeing the types of people many of the companies I work with would be, very interesting! Looking forward to part two already, thanks for sharing, Niall"Subscribe
Using Internet Forums To Market Your Business
"Hi Derbhile, Great to hear that you are getting a steady stream of new clients as a result of your online activities. I'm also a big fan of Linkedin groups, they are a great place to make new connections and customers, and I absolutely agree that answering and asking questions is best way to get to know people on there. Thanks for sharing, Niall"
