What Is Love?
"Love this post Frank! :) I worked in, for and against many (so-called) teams in business. I've also led teams, in reality my job is really about helping to create teams for businesses. In saying that, while 'team building' and 'working as part of a team' are words that are used a lot in business. The reality however is that the majority of businesses neither want or understand what it means to build a team. Businesses who understand the term build their business around their teams, businesses who don't attempt to build their teams around their business. We pay a lot of hommage to the notion that it's about our people, that they are the most important factor, but in truth we rarely mean it?"Love The Competition In Five Easy Steps
"Hi Christina, I love step five! that's where it's at for me just now. I really think that small biz needs to think collaboration rather than competition. If you take a small twon, for instance. It makes a lot of sense for all businesses in an area who target tourists/passers by joining forces in an effort to get more people to visit the area. Online/Social Media is the tool in this regards. Wouldn't it be great if all businesses pooled their resources to create a online presence as to why you should visit. Together, we can always be greater than the sum of our parts."Local Search Explained: Start Your Campaign Today
"Hi Des, I wasn't aware that such a high percentage of users perform local search, but it makes sense! particulary of course if they are looking to do some form of booking online. This appears to be a very important area for small businesses, and one that they need to pay lots of attention to. Thanks for sharing, Niall "Competition Versus Collaboration
"Hi Patricia, Welcome to Bloggertone! I'm a big believer in collaboration being the new competition for small businesses in particular. I've begin to experience this myself to a large degree in the last 24 months. Social media is a great tool in this regard, because it acts like a lighthouse to like minded businesses and individuals. Because I have developed my online profile, I am now regularly contacted by others and asked to work on projects with others. "Business Process Management TRIQS
"Hi Mick, I think your point about many businesses not seeing new ways of doing things is on the money for right now. Traditional businesses in particular are guilty in this regard, some showing an irrational stubbornness which it comes to embracing technologies etc. Thanks for sharing, Niall "Declaring War On Your Business!
"Great post Elaine, and one that I can vouch for! So many small business owners should really read this, particularly in the more traditional sectors. So many out there are so caught up in trying to do more of the same, that they never have given themselves a chance to realise that the same old is now often entirety ineffective. The world has moved on, and they were too busy sticking their guns to notice. Find new ways people."Why Being Comfortable Isn’t Always Good
"Great post Mairead, I couldn't agree with you more. If to grow is to change, if change makes us feel uncomfortable, then we must proactively seek out those things that give us discomfort. Try something new, put ourselves in the shoes of the other, change our situation by changing ourselves etc."Subscribe
