How Do I Know When To Redesign My Website?
"I talked to some of the people behind http://www.socialmediaexaminer.../ and one of my big takeaways was how seriously important good design is. Unfortunately it's also one of the first places small business try to cut corners. "Can web visitors easily navigate to the most crucial information within 3 clicks?" That's such a great question, people fail to realise just how important the user experience is and why information needs to be presented in an easy to find and engaging way. As you point out, your website can be a hugely effective means of communicating with customers provided that you spend a little time and resource ensuring that it delivers for them. "A subject that is close to my heart and I'd agree with everything except the piece about closing. A salesperson that has a cancellation rate of between 10 - 40% is doing something very wrong in my opinion, so I'd be be very wary of following what this salesperson was attempting to teach/coach as a trainer. If you have effectively managed your sales process and identified and dealt with any and all of the prospect's concerns, closing then becomes the natural end to your selling. Very often what happens is that salespeople insist on continuing in attempting to sell to people/companies who are not in a position to buy. Great salespeople do the exact opposite, they focus all their efforts on finding and selling to people/companies that are in a position to buy."Job Seekers: Do You Have The Ted Factor?
"Ted's is such a great story and as you say a great reminder to us all that's it's never too late. "He believed in himself and in his ability" that's a great point Greg and one that I hadn't thought of until now but you are right of course. It would have been all too easy for him to doubt his talent because of his situation but he didn't. Inspiring stuff!"I Resolve To Be Pathologically Curious In 2011
"Hi Margaret, Good luck with the resolutions! I think your point around negotiation rarely being purely rational is well made. As regards my resolutions, last year it was all about the business so this year I’m planning to make this year more about me. I've given up the cigarettes, will take good bit of time off and will only work with clients that well that I really want to work with."Women In Biz-Do We Limit Ourselves?
"From the outside looking in, I am inclined to think that women only biz groups must be limiting but then the women involved report how necessary they are. There is also the social/supporting aspect that perhaps is sometimes overlooked in these dialogues. It strikes me as one of those grey areas or maybe that's just me a man being afraid to take a stand. Phew! when it comes to women, I always end up feeling confused :) - Niall"Subscribe
Business acronym: Growth
"Hi Mairead, I just checked out your WOB and it looks like a nifty self analysis tool. Often for growth to start we may have to leave something go, to change. Thanks for sharing, Niall"
