Wow, Chris. You are dead on about this. Going a bit further on this topic, knowing your client's business, or at least something about the important points, is very critical when it comes to knowing your client's needs. Making those needs a priority just like the needs of your own business makes you a business they will want to deal with. Not simply someone trying to sell them something but someone who truly understands what's important to them and their business and is there to offer a helping hand.
