When I first started to create small businesses, I did not use business plans. I stumbled across a book on how to write business plans. I started using them. After a failed attempt at creating a business, I realized I focused more on writing the plan and less on actually starting the business.

Tomas, you posted "Do not take a month or more to write your business plan. It should take a week or less." Amen! Business plans may be incredibly important tools, but, in the end, they are just that. If they delay or cause you to over think starting a business, they have ceased being a helpful tool and have become a hindrance.

I'm glad you agree. I think there are some business people who would disagree. I had a boss like that once. Thanks again for reading HeatherStone.
