Very comprehensive...a must-read!
I tried finding a mentor when I started writing; unfortunately writing is such a saturated market and so cut-throat that nobody was interested in counseling someone who would soon be a competitor. In a way I can't blame them. Now I do the same, only when I hear that someone is thinking of becoming a writer, I secretly enlist them in the French Foreign Legion; that way I know they'll be out of my hair for the next six years.
As always, a very enjoyable post, and I continue to learn much from you. Thanks!
