Turning Social Media Into Sociable Media
"It's interesting to see the different expectations we all have too when going into social media. I hate clicking buttons for clicking buttons sake. I'm totally outside of the US "cute" culture (cutesy emails etc) so I do not have much patience with most of the Facebook applications. Where I find my value, is in focusing on what interests me. This is how I have met some great people. People I can have real conversations with. In practice this means honing in on keywords - the words that best describe my interests. And it's funny, I really, really like FriendFeed (today! and dreading any Facebook touch to it!). Because it is ultra easy to put connections into folders and I use it just like others use their Google Reader. It is how I keep up to date... and the format is soooo much more easier on the eye than anything else out there. But I do wonder what my favorites will be at the end of the year, things change so fast."Are you Falling Into The Marketing Diet Trap?
"Interesting question... I think another trap is moving from one diet to another - a few days on the grapefruit diet and then moving on to the Zone, then trying out the Soup diet. With social media marketing it is easy to start one thing well, find another shiny new thing, and move on before you get a chance to get real results. And we need to give marketing tactics the chance to bring in the results."Investment In An International Business Blog
"Thanks Susan, I found this a bit difficult to write about. I understand an international blog is not for everyone... but there are so many businesses that are losing an opportunity. It requires so little investment for the international market development opportunities out there. Traditional market research is too expensive for many companies. I think an international blog is a good option if you put your brains behind it and sustain the effort to make the connections."8 Principles of Winning Businesses
"Listening to the audio now. thanks for the link :) I liked the "Sense of history" and the "Sense of geography". this got me thinking, in the past most people would remember these, but not sure how many of us every think of these two points, or really dig into them deep enough to make a difference."Subscribe
Three Tips to Wade into the Social Media Pool
"These 3 tips are useful. I must say that I let out a sigh when I read the second one "Develop content for the different digital venues". This is a challenge for me. I've had the software to create videos for a couple of months now... and still haven't scheduled time to go through it. "
