16 Small Business PR Tactics To Do Today
"John, I like all of these suggestions but the thing to remember most is to include a news hook in whatever you do. Thing of the PR releases your sending not as helping yourself (though, of course, they are) but as helping the bloggers and news outlets your sending to. Give them news, which they crave daily, rather than a pitch, which they're likely to ignore."Are Big Companies Better Innovators Than Small Ones?
"I'm not convinced any kind of business, big or small, has cornered the market on innovation. Certainly though, the ability to innovate can be hugely important for small business survival. I think it's critical to set up any business with innovation in mind."Anyone Mind About The Swimsuit Issue?
"Interesting post. I think one of the main factors in why the Nature Conservancy was offered no real censure is because there would not really be any harm in connecting environmentalism with a bathing suit issue. What could feminists really become upset with? That drooling men would now become environmentally conscious? Or could you see outraged environmentalists thinking that a woman who if not pretty is at least fit "looking" is equated with preserving the environment? Especially when most environmentalists care more about the environment and less about people's appearances. It's a classic case of over think."Marketing, Meaning, and Feminine Mystique
"I really got a kick out of this post! Okay, it's mostly got to be tongue in cheek. But what I really got out of it is what I've known all along: we must have tweezed too hard, because the "brow" is long gone. Or maybe we should call it the "democratizing of the brow", where all brows are more or less of equal height and all valid for their own reasons. Amusing to keep going on that construct. Now I'm going to go out and buy that book! Thanks for the post!"Embrace Simplicity, Get Rid of Marketing Clutter | M4B Marketing
"I think it's a good idea not to be a slave to your business--because if you're spending all your time doing the work of it and not the strategic planning and management, it's really more of a gig and less of a business. As a bootstrapper I can say, it's really difficult to make the transition from working the business to running it without money from outside. But not impossible! Great post, by the way."Subscribe
Cart Abandonment Analysis: Rosetta Stone
"This is a great analysis! One of the best metrics online marketers could look at is shopping cart abandonment. I, too, have spent time on Rosetta Stone, loading items only to abandon the cart for the same reason, price. Perhaps sites selling pricier items encounter this more often and should therefore spend extra time customizing their resulting offers. The fact is that highly customized experiences is one of the best ways of differentiating brand, and certainly it would help persuade me to buy a higher priced item.
