Too Busy To Blog
"Hi Alexandra, Often the only cure for procrastination is to eat that elephant!! Or break a seemingly difficult task into smaller pieces. When it comes to blogging, i find you need to be thinking about it daily, so it becomes part of your natural thought process (like remembering to drink enough water, or go out to exercise, or looking for content for something) Once a habit is formed, it becomes easier, but like everything, needs to be re-enforced regularly. Life throws up things every day to distract us!"Too Busy To Blog
"Hi and thanks, you have hit the nail on the head there - "still it is not a 100% guarantee that it won't happen." Re-enforcement is so important to keep us on track, not something that can be "planned" and then assume it will happen. Thanks for a great comment and owning up to your distractions :)"8 Ways To Use Mind Maps For Business
"I am also an addict of lists - they are very limiting. What I love about the Mind mapping idea in presentations, is that it's easy to go back to a point, and recap, without having to repeat a list. A mindmap in my mind (excuse the pun) is diverse, evolving and manipulative in the moment - perfect for presenting or heading meetings :)"The Silent Partners
"Honestly? I feel the 'recession' has brought small businesses together! Something like a 'recession' will prevent some from starting a business anyway, but I know if it wasn't a recession, it would be something else. I see first hand the different outlooks lately - whether from my clients, large and small, or my peers. Thankfully, Niall, we are also realising that we don't have to do business with absolutely everybody, especially as we discover our niche area or area of expertise. Consider your own business, and how your focus has changed over the past 12 months. You have recognised the changes and your interest in all things Web 2.0 :) And yes, we will attract more of the work we like, if we stop taking the work that we don't like! Unfortunately, some have to learn that the hard way, but all is fair in love and business, as they say :) Thanks for reading, and sharing your thoughts! "The Silent Partners
"Absolutely Catherine, There does exist the debate, however, that secretly, oftentimes those closest to us actually subconsciously don't want us to be successful, as that would mean they are not, or 1000 other reasons. But on the whole, we are definitely not alone, and support can too often come as a surprise for us, as we don't expect someone to advocate us so strongly or actively support our business. I believe it's important for us to truly believe in what we do, so that others can also. Thanks for stopping by and reading the post :)"Another Day, not another Dollar!
"Thanks so much for the comments everyone, and reading the post. Everyone seems to be in agreement that free is good, even if it is just advice or a referral, and it doesn't have to cost anything to give, especially as we all have more time now (unless you are still chasing your tail). As long as it's a win/win situation, everyone gains!"Subscribe
