DIY Management Accounting And Business Performance Review
""Mark it down and change what you can." A lesson for all of us, in any aspect of our business, Aileen :) Great pointers, and so easy to do with the right information. In my endeavour to get online, my plan for 2013 is to get my accounts online also - exactly for the reasons you state above - ease of access for me and my collaborators (accountant, VA etc) and reducing data entry with receipt scanning and cash payments."7 Ways Video Marketing Helped One Small Business
"What a great post - great food for thought. I have noticed much more quality interaction on sites like YouTube etc, reflecting that it is much more now than a place to watch funny videos. And with the extra editing options, there is now no excuse for us to be online using multimedia, we just have to get ourselves first :)"What’s the Importance of the 3 C’s in Business
"A Wonderful post Warren. When we elicit the thought process in others, and they come up with ideas themselves (even if somewhat cleverly planted) that person is much more likely to go along with any plans made and be included in objectives accomplished. It's simple human nature, if our idea is acted on we feel cherished, respected, listened to and validated. This results in effectiveness all around, and much happier teams :) Authenticity wins out - every time. I will leave the debate about a Manager assuming to also be a "Leader" for another day :) "Saying "No" to customers can help a small business grow - Small Biz Diamonds
"Hi Ashley, This article made me smile - like reprimanding a child and saying their behaviour is unacceptable, while respecting the child at the same time. It's important to separate the request from the client/customer, so they understand that it's more about your business model than them as a client. Quality over quantity - something I need to remind myself of too often - trying to be all things to all possible clients - it wears us out. Very timely article for me - thank you"Management Styles - Theory X and Theory Y
"Thanks Niall, I am refreshed and ready for that follow up post. I would love some feedback in the comments here to give me some guidance as to the content of the follow up. Perhaps something around our attitude towards conducting ourselves both online and offline as employers/managers? As a consequence of traceability and transparency (with the constant "threat" of exposure if we do not conduct ourselves properly). And how our recent behavioural changes have or have not been influenced by the more recent theorists/experts in the areas of SM and SN?"Why the Smallest Details Win the Biggest Satisfaction Rewards
"So many people seem to thing that mediocre service is "adequate" and will pass for service. Unfortunately, because we are subjective human beings, and relate to the person we deal with as consumers, the smallest thing can make an overall experience unsatisfactory. Attention to detail and constant smile would go far :) I like your way of building on best practice - based on real experience and not just something from a text book - great piece Diana!"I Am A Presenter, Get Me Out Of Here!
"It is also agreed (mostly) that self-deprecation is empowering for an audience. I truly believe dancing in the moment and making use of improvisation, and sometimes acting a little silly, really does help to lighten a mood (if appropriate). Of course peeling it back to basics as you suggest Niall allows us the opportunity to work on self, increase confidence, and be more fluid. Relying on slides can be more of a hindrance than a help for some. Great comment Niall, thanks you for sharing your insights :)"How to balance work and life as a freelancer
"In hindsight, I can clearly say that planning and boundaries are required to work from home as a freelancer, or even out of the home office. Simple planning can avoid procrastination and boundaries with domestic activities are imperative for survival (both financial and mental) Great post Angelos"Subscribe
