Marketer, Media or Museum? The Content Curator
"I agree on this point Yoni, the whole thing will come down to quality in the end though. And although I somewhat agree with the topic over all, I find that much of what I write is usually because I have issue with a system and am trying to do my part to help change it for the better. However, I do see quite clearly, at times of not knowing what to write, or at times where I might be pressed for time, that content aggregation can indeed be a good method of information dissemination to our valued readership. Nice post Cindy, and overall, a good read. I just feel sorry for those that don't get the whole quality requirement though. I see them dropping like rocks in SERP results from potential authority loss if they're not careful on what they let in, or link to :)"6 Signs Your Blog Is Heading For Its Death (And Small Suggestion To Revive It)
"Copy and paste of comment submission to the blog page on this: Interesting read, nice parallels to health of human and blog health. I ran into this post because of submission over at BizSugar, and thought I'd drop by and read. Like Delena mentions, and is human nature, discouragement is one thing, giving up is another, yet in my almost 20 years online, I'd have to say that the frustrations and giving up are the root of most failure. Of course, there is much more beyond that, part of it relating to what kind of marketer we each are, but at the root, those things play big roles in the results. I've had times where I've seen visitors drop off as well. However, I can also track that back to certain things I've done, or in most cases not done, to cause that drop off. Social networking, for instance is a very big part of my traffic generation strategies, and I find when I fail to network as much, I can see nice dips in traffic. In the end, allot goes back to people's failure to track as well. It's a bit hard to fix problems when people don't use analytics to begin with, which means most times, they have no clue about why things aren't working. Nice post, one vote up for a visitor from BizSugar :) PS. The tick box for comment submission to show people we're not scammers has blank text. Well, it's not blank, but it's the same color as the background and people can't read it. It could affect your comments :)"Don’t Put Your Head in The Sand When Marketing Your Brand
"Hello Susan, Copy and paste from comment left on your blog follows: I'd have to say that you're spot on with most of your points. This to me, is prime example of why I've always tried to tell people that entrepreneurship and business is about life long learning. Anyone without a zest for knowledge will find themselves in situations like you mentioned about the carpenter, being held prisoner by others that know more than they do. Like you said, the worst part comes when suddenly the relationship ends between business and client, and especially more troubling should it be business that walks away leaving the client scrambling to provide another solution. At times, this could spur poor choices, and the less a business owner knows about a process, the higher the chance for poor choices. That's a good way to kill business. I wondered in from BizSugar, and this is yet another vote up for the day. Good post, valid points, and hopefully people reading get the idea that the best route is a minimal understanding of a system before hiring someone else to do the work."Article Marketing the Good the Bad the Ugly and the Realities of Article Marketing Today
"Thanks Duncan, Yeah, you're right, and it's amazing how many just don't realize what they're talking about. At least one thing is certain, those in the know now know who NOT to follow. :) Thanks for the support, will have to take a look at some of your work and see what it's about :) Last thoughts, anyone still pushing outdated methods obviously doesn't know what they're talking about :) Hopefully, people will educate themselves and realize who's keeping it real and who's trying to BS :)"The Myth Of Overnight Success
"What I posted over on your site is as follows: Hello Isabelle, I stumbled in from BizSugar, and just thought I'd mention the point you made on analytics and tracking. I also run a website trying to teach ethical marketing, while using a domain trying to elevate above what most of the questionable ethics people promote, and one of the most common problems comes from the fact of lacking analytics. It's not just email campaigns, it's website analytics as well. We simply cannot reposition or fix problems and issues when we don't know what they are. In all actuality, I'd have to say, in my almost 20 years online, the top biggest problems relate to failure to track, for proper evaluation, and the type of marketer someone is, are they ethical, or unethical. With relation to tracking, it does provide a wealth of information to help us make more educated decisions. Without analytics, it's a shotgun blind approach that gives us no answers to the questions that matter. Just like you pointed out, with email analytics, it can tell us the best days and times to send them because we want the most action we can get from the process. I'd also point out, that many "gurus" suggest deceptive email subject line headers. Sales always take some degree of trust. How can anyone expect to be deceptive in an email heading and then anticipate an expectation of someone to react on the message within? It's one of the biggest brand damaging moves an email marketer can make. Thanks for the vid. Good points and good information."The Secret of Why How to Make Money Online Fails for You
"Thank you very much to both of you for the support. Trying to do my part, with the domain, to rise above the noise and scam/spam to help people reach financial independence through the honest and ethical methods that work. I do VERY much appreciate your support in that. Too often, I am guilty by association because of the domain name, and really could use some help promoting what I'm trying to do, even if that's some of you writing your own thing, on your own site, trying to get the truth out there."The Secret of Why How to Make Money Online Fails for You
"Thanks for the support Heidi. I know some, I've learned some, I guess it's a good thing since I've been online since 1996 time frame :) Just tired of seeing people lead down the garden path then wondering why they're not making all the bucks like the program they bought suggested. Just trying to do my part to help make the world a better place :)"Subscribe
