Use Your Creativity to Boost Sales & Profit
"Susan, The problem with ebooks, from my perspective (I write myself and a wife in publishing): 1) In the literary world (business, fiction, etc.) only about 1 in 30,000 manuscripts ends in publication. The review process by publishers ensures that those that get through the process are really that good (in theory). With eBooks, anyone can publish one...and now it seems almost everyone is. It means that most would not cut the grade in the publishing world. 2) Most business eBooks which I have read are simply a bunch of old blog articles cut and pasted together for a "book." If the Ebook is a freebie on a website, there is some leeway for quality, though if someone is going to self-publish one in hopes of selling, it better be damn good... and...CREATIVE! "Nice job Jackie. I had no idea they had outpaced McDonalds. Sounds like a good business model they have though I must admit I never ate there. I was ALWAYS a meatloaf and mashed potato guy at the local diner when I lived in the States...the kind of diner that had a personal little jukebox at each table and a waitress named Dot, Peggy or Flo. "Neat post! I never really thought of the ice-cream truck as guerilla marketing but you have me convinced. I actually haven't thought about ice-cream trucks in decades, but in retrospect: -They invaded the neighborhood -The rang those bells: sort of the Pavlov's dog effect = salivation -They got you running home to ask mom or dad for some money -Then you went running to get a treat before they drove away. It seemed to work well. "13 Ways an Effective Accounting System Can Improve Business Decisions
"Hi Ronika! Nice post and nice pic of the cat! Love it! I used to have a one-eyed cat that looked quite similar. I was glad to see from a comment you left here on BS that your brand and your company are growing and expanding! You go girl! Great information from you as usual!"Career Lessons from Kathryn Erskine’s “Mockingbird”
"Very inspirational post Unmana. My favorite book of all time, without trying to sound too morbid with the title comparison, is Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird." My favorite scene is at the end when Boo Radley, a character who suffers from his own issues, ends up being the mysterious person who saved Jem and Scout. Have you read it? If not, you must. I will also be checking our local bookstore for your suggestion, "Mockingbird." Yoni"Subscribe
How to NOT Sound or Write Like an Idiot in a Professional Setting
"Duncan, Reminds me of the old Andrew "Dice" Clay sketch: "So the teacher asks me 'Hey Andrew, what's the difference between 12 and 4'? So I answer, 'That's what I say teach, what's the f&%king difference'!""
