"Today is my turn to speak my mind! I'm a bit pissed-off and bewildered that with all of the people who benefit from this site and the hard work and effort which is put in by the staff and moderators, that in over 24 hours only ten people have taken the time to check out this article and vote. Yesterday was Heidi's turn to speak her mind, today I speak mine. Come on people, get with it! If you post articles here regularly, who do you think moderates them? People! Who maintains this site? People! And who has made this site great so that we can plug our businesses through our posts? People! I'm not a moderator or staff, only a member who enjoys this site and benefits from it. "Would all members PLEASE visit this article from the BIZSUGAR Team. I'm not trying to preach, but this article was/still is a great opportunity to say THANK YOU to those who make this great site available to us. I can't for the life of me understand why only a handful of people in 24 hours have read this and acknowledged the fine and valuable work that the team and staff of BIZ SUGAR does. How long does it take to scan an article and cast a vote? Pardon my language, but this is f%$*@ing embarrassing! If I was one of the hard working moderators, staffperson or owner of this site, this would feel like a slap in the face! I see so many articles on the site about showing appreciation to clients and customers, about respect and personalizing businesses, so what happened here? Come on, this is a community! A community is about mutual recognition and respect! This article could have and should have had at least a hundred votes in the first 24 hours, because every person who uses this site should have acknowledged it in some way! I'm not directing this toward the groupies and voters...you guys are amazing. You come here every day to vote on our articles; you guys should be commended for your dedication. this is directed to the people who submit articles and take for granted that you have a place to do so! "Niall, It's great to see this piece on the "Hot-Topics" page! It really is an exceptional piece! The more I read it the more I'm seeing the outstanding value of what you have written. There is a generational gap. We youngsters tend to think that it's all about youth, and sometimes it's easy to forget that there is a huge market out there for the older crowd. By bridging the generational gap as you state, we can have a much broader appeal to include the older demographic. The mentality of the corner store is an excellent way to achieve that. "Great article on saying "No." Of course saying no has become much easier since I became a freelancer and have only myself to answer too. When I had a mean, grumpy boss and mean grumpy supervisor it was much tougher and there were repercussions.
