Building A Sustainable Business In 2014
"Hi Ivan, I'd love to get a discussion started on this one. The word sustainable is thrown around a lot these days. But what does it really mean? Is it just about being environmentally friendly? Or is there something more? What's your definition of a sustainable business, Ivan? Then let's throw it our there to the whole BizSugar community! "Capture Your Audience with These 5 Amazing Content Marketing Tips - Bloggers Ideas
"Hi Jitendra, Thanks for sharing Elizabeth's guest post! I agree that titles are hugely important for all content online -- and maybe for all content period! As someone who has worked with A LOT of online content yourself, I'm wondering if you could share a few of your top tips for writing great titles with members of the BizSugar community here in the comment section."Don't Let Your Lousy Job Eat You Up
"Hi Jane, Thanks for publishing this post from Susana Aires and for sharing it with the BizSugar community. Knowing a bit more about your background as a result of putting together your recent profile for our Contributor of the Week post on the BizSugar blog, I know you have some experience with this topic too. I hope folks in the community and on your blog will have time to drop by and read more about your story too."Employee Training Made Easy: 4 Steps to Better Results
"Hi Cecil, Is it your impression that many businesses -- or even most -- seem to spend way too little time on training? If your answer is yes, do you think it's because they are unaware of how much lack of efficiency will cost them in the long run? Or is it that they've calculated that the cost of training properly is greater than just giving a brief overview and letting employees learn by failing on the job? Also, to what degree do you think it is important to take people's individual learning styles into account while doing training?"Tests for Hiring Small Business Employees
"Hi Rieva, I've got nothing against personality tests, but I think they serve as a tool not as a replacement for other means of judging a job candidate. I don't know how anyone else would rank various factors when deciding on a new hire. But I agree potential is a big factor to consider -- even if it's hard to measure. My question is why such weight is being placed on tests and whether it has to do with desire on the part of recruiters or employers to prove their decisions were not arbitrary. "Are You Living Your Life On Autopilot?
"Interesting analogy, Sylviane. And this is especially true for the entrepreneur, I think. Thanks so much for sharing this post with the BizSugar community. We might say entrepreneurs must first take their lives off autopilot to find the new approach necessary to produce their unique business, product or service. Then perhaps, put themselves on autopilot once again after they have formulated the plan and need to move forward into execution. Both steps are necessary to achieve a goal. What would you say are the biggest mistakes a person can make in this process?"Is Google Translate An Accurate Translator?
"Hi Sylviane, Thanks for sharing this post with the BizSugar community too. Translation software (and other tools) are becoming more important for businesses of all sizes these days, because, thanks to digital communications, the only thing holding most businesses back from trading internationally may be any language barrier (and related cultural issues) related to doing business with people in other countries. Pretty important to remember then that there are ways to address these obstacles. But there are no shortcuts. And using translation software does not make you an expert at dealing with other cultures and their markets."Social Marketing Infographic: Are you the Hero or Villain?
"Hi Stuart, Like the ideas here (and LOVE the infographic) but, in truth, when we talk about established truths backed by solid research the question is which ones. There is a lot of "research" out there in the social media space today, not all of which is credible. Your recommendations for separating fact from fantasy?"Subscribe
Flash Marketing – The Power of One Day Events
"Hi Harry, I think this is a great idea and have seen this done by many diverse local businesses. I guess my question is, as in the case of social media, how do you measure ROI? Certainly, you can determine whether sales picked up that day. But how about less direct impacts? What about the long term future customer who first discovered you because of this event? How do you know whether the cost of the event is justified? How do we measure results?"
