Is There a Stronger Brand Than Apple?
"Thing is, Pat, it only needs to be a strong brand for the people who love it. For the rest, it's just a residual cultural phenomenon. I don't use Apple products generally. (I can hear the gasps!) The price tag just isn't worth it for what I do. That doesn't say I'll never use an Apple product. It all depends. But right now, I'm not too important to Apple's future and am not much of an evangelist for them. But I'm sure they don't care. There are plenty of others who are. See, I think we have to get off the need to compare our businesses to a pop culture phenomenon like Apple. What's important is that our brand is strong and communicates to our customers. "Is There a Stronger Brand Than Apple?
"Agreed there's tons to learn here. Martin's point about supply chain management is also a good one. I think the important thing is to learn from the brand building potential here while realizing success for our businesses may be completely different. The Importance Of Human Business & Digital Schmoozing
"David, great contribution...and timely. I think Brogan just wrote a post on this recently as well. The danger of just going through the motions. I'm a Star Wars and Star Trek geek, so I can be counted upon to make pop cultural references and comments on that sort of thing all the time. Why? Because I've identified a huge demographic in my market that intersects with these topics? Nope. It's just who I am."
