American Football Misconceptions & Business Parallels
"Wonderful article, Geno! I'd add that your take on brutality, strategy, and flexibility apply to non-team sports, too - like my favorite, Boxing. Excluding a few poor sports, lots of boxers hug or shake hands after the bout, and have well thought-out strategies pre-fight that may need to be revised based on something unexpected the opponent does (flexibility). businessavante (Duncan) "How to Market Your Brand on Facebook Places
"Broadcasting one's whereabouts seems to me like courting disaster. Anyone who knows me knows how to get in touch w/o me broadcasting it. I'd say it's (sadly) downright dangerous for women traveling alone, and would caution young people (who often feel bullet proof - that it'll never happen to them) that very bad things can indeed happen to anyone. Growing up in the late '50's/early '60's my Mom always took the phone off the hook when the family went out so a potential burglar would get a busy signal & think we were home - on the phone. businessavante"How to Watch the Superbowl and Your Business Like a Coach
"One of the neat things about business blogs is that almost anything can be used as an analogy for business if the author is creative enough to tie it together. Some of my favorite blogs are analogies - after reading a dozen or so technical articles in a row, a well written analogy can really liven things up. businessavante"Subscribe

"Hi Mairead, I'm immune to the "Act Now" & "One Day Only" offers that pop up every day or two (I've yet to see a One Time offer that wasn't incessantly repeated). The TV shopping channels are the kings of all these "techniques" - especially the "rarity" of their items - "We don't know when - of if - we'll get these back at this price" (like there's even a chance they'll run out in the next 4 years!!). businessavante (Duncan)"
