Green Business Trends and Aspects
"Funny how an issue I've been hearing about my whole life (and I'm mid-50's) is incessantly being sold as new. I saw a Kojak rerun from '74 where he yells at "Crokka" (Crocker): "Don't you know there's an Energy Crisis?" The 19thC romantic era was the early beginning of all this eco-consciousness, also when Malthus wrote about over population & food shortages. None of this is new, and it's so easy to sell because of the perceived guilt heaped on all of us. Now it's a also big $$$ business, and a hot-button political issue. I remember the 1st Earth day in 1970, assuming it was a 1 shot deal. The reason for my pathetic little rant - I believe it's a personal decision - a life-style decision people make all on their own, without the need for constant reminders & guilt trips. businessavante aka Duncan"Beware The Social Media Snake Oil Salesman
"I thought the whole thing about Social Media was that the blogger was SUPPOSED to add their input - that they were not just company shills duplicating the standard advertising the company already spews out in magazine & TV ads. In some cases, the blogger is viewed as much more trust-worthy than the company, that's why the company uses Social Media. businessavante"How picking a fight is an awesome startup strategy
"It's a wonderful idea if you're really great at defense - like Ali, for example. I believe Charles "Sonny" Liston & George Foreman can attest to his great defense (Liston), and his total psychological domination (young Foreman, who was reeling from the 1st punch of the fight - landed by Ali). Both these guys were terrors - the Tysons of their day, but Ali called their bluff. As trainer Angelo Dundee said, the way to control a bully is to immediately show them who's boss - don't let them dictate the action. businessavante"How picking a fight is an awesome startup strategy
"Hi Mike! I never saw anyone at any weight move the way he did in his pre-sanction career - and he was 6'3" 200-210#. The defense was beyond anything seen so far, but you're right - the really cool part was the way he could punch from any angle, circling either direction. His hands were so fast a lot of times it's hard to even see the "two" of the "one-two" - it's a nanosecond later. How many "lead rights" did he land - or how many didn't land (a very small number). The opponent got dizzy just watching him literally run rings around them. Poetry in motion, especially when they do a slo-mo, and you can see all the subtlety & grace. Offense, defense, and total psychological domination - in his early 20's, yet. businessavante"Transform your thinking
""Logic dictates"...said Mr. Spock on countless Star Trek episodes. I admire logic, but recognize Capt. Kirk's use of illogic to win the day sometimes, such as beating Spock at 3-level chess, much to Spock's dismay (is that an emotion)? Also, when Kirk said "Our logic is to be illogical!" to defeat Norman, the head robot of the 100's of robots in "I Mudd". Normally logic should rule, but not always! (Kirk is my hero as the record-holder for destroying more computers than anyone else in the future - often by "talking it" into destroying itself because it can't compute pi to the last digit! It sputters, smokes, and shakes till it finally blows up - Beautiful!!) businessavante"Subscribe
