Handy tips to scare away blog readers!
"Some good fundamental tips that amazingly many bloggers still don't seem to get. The point about the long posts, however, is a bit of a balance. I think a post can be on the long side (ie 800-1200 words) as long the info is engaging and/or very useful *and* it is ascetically pleasant to the web-trained eye."Do College Dropouts Turn Out to be More Successful Entrepreneurs?
"I think the answer to this question really varies from individual to individual... Is it possible to get real-world, business knowledge while staying within the protective, university "bubble"- for sure! For example, many major colleges and universities have on-campus small business development centers and business incubator programs. On the other hand, there are some people who NEED to leave college ( or not even attend in the first place) in order to focus their energies on their business ventures... If this weren't the case today we wouldn't have Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, Wordpress, etc Each person really needs to consider his or her own situation to find the right decision "The Usefulness Of Directory Submission In SEO
"I wonder how much this applies now that Google has turned the online world upside down with its recent Penguin update. These days it seems that having directory links can actually *hurt* your search ranking, and it hasn't been so clear whether Google is making distinctions (at least not right now) between quality, human-edited directories and those spammy, automated ones. "A Step in the Right Direction: Implementing a Wellness Program in Your Small Biz
"A lot of this has to do with attitude, not so much about how much money you can throw in. I know the employees of a small online marketing company who decided to bring in locally grown produce and cook at the office. Not only is this a healthy lunch option, but it's a great team builder as well, and it costs very little to implement. "What's In It For The Person Paying The Bill?
"You raised some interesting points here. I think for small business owners who sell to or work with bigger corporate clients, sometimes it is hard to "think big"- to broaden the scope of a product/service and their sales pitch, and to remember that there may be many people and departments involved in any given purchasing decision. This is particularly true where the business owner has never worked within a big corporation."The Ultimate List Of Online Tools & Resources For Small Business
"Nice way to round up some of the current productivity tools and apps out there. Sometimes it feels that if I just blink my eyes once, the whole landscape changes. It can get really overwhelming/confusing for small business owners to stay in touch with the tools that will best help them get the job done. "Subscribe
Why Now Is a Good Time to Get on Google+
"I once read somewhere that the difference between G+ and FB is that G+ get's the logistics and functionality of social networking, while FB gets human emotions. It's very true. Profitability aside, I used to think that FB was a fad, but the truth is that millions and millions of its billions of users have their whole lives on this social network- thousands of photos, and comments, and events. It's a part of their lives (and FB's new timeline set up is brillant for this reason) It will be hard to just up and leave. G+ on the other hand seems good for specific, more work-related communities. It's definitely not a substitute for FB. "
