Getting More Comments On Your Small Business Blog
"Once again, Alastair, I think it all comes down to comment moderation. I certainly wouldn't recommend this strategy for anyone who doesn't plan to monitor their comments carefully. As for the SEO impact, perhaps you could answer that question better than I. Would be interested in your thoughts. Maybe a followup post? "Diversity Is A Key To Detroit’s Future Success
"Diversity should be more than just a catch phrase though too often it is. Reaching beyond your own culture, community, comfort zone, inner circle (whatever it is you're used to) is critical to success in small business or pretty much any endeavor. Ignoring new opportunities, new partners, new labor pools, new customers is not simply short sighted. It can be fatal."Why Small Business Bloggers should Learn from YouTube Stars
"As I commented on the original link to this article submitted here at BizSugar by Small Business News, I think there is a certain wow factor to these videos, (flash over substance in some cases to draw a huge viewership.) However, the possibility also exists for more niche video success if properly calibrated to reach the right audience. I suspect this, rather than the YouTube superstar model will be the wave of the future for most online business."Let co-authors build your brand with new perspectives & readers
"Informative post, Traci. Thanks for sharing. I think another great way to do this in online business models is by cultivating guest bloggers for your site. If you've got a branded blog, adding other perspectives builds community, readership, perspective (the list goes on and on.) It's all about being a leader, creating a vision and then allowing others to contribute. And the rewards are greater than most people suspect. "Is Online Video A Viable Business Model?
"Interesting. This is pretty simply an advertising only model as opposed to using video to market something else. Traditionally, these kinds of business models are associated with huge traffic and highly popular content as most of the entries in this list are. But there may be a model that could take advantage of highly focused niche content as well. It's something online content creators should certainly be researching. "7 Questions Small Businesses Should Be Asking
"Really good questions, Matt. Especially number two. In a rapidly changing economy it is probably a mistake to put your eggs all in one basket in regards to revenue. It's not good to spread yourself too thin, but having several revenue aspects to your business model gives you the flexibility to reposition your business if necessary as market conditions change."Subscribe

"I don't know if there's an absolute standard for it, TJ, and probably only Google knows what they actually think about it. Many social media platforms include some areas of their site that are one way and some that are another. And I guess it could be argued that allowing it on your blog could promote spam. Then again, with the rise of comment approval, one could also argue commenters have every bit the level of approval from the blogger has if he/she had created a hyperlink in his/her own post aimed at their Website."
