Unlock the Door to Your Success
"Great series of articles, Frederique! For this one I'd say people who were truly abused as children, and/or who have brain chemistry imbalances are at a distinct disadvantage. Under these circumstances treading water may be all that is possible - that it may take every ounce of their strength just to keep their head above water. There are those who've conquered this, or worse, but the playing field isn't level. businessavante"Tax Time: Do I Have to Report that Income?
"This reminds me of George Harrison's "Taxman" from an early Beatles album. "If you breathe, they'll tax the air, if you walk, they'll tax your feet"! (A rough paraphrase - I haven't heard it in decades, but I like George playing the Gibson SG.) businessavante"Threats to Internet Freedom
"Lots of interesting ideas on the total protection of freedom to broadcast on the web, Feross, but where does security fit in - how do you feel about phishing & viruses being transmitted online? Isn't there a very good reason to stop cyber crime? Isn't a criminal's freedom to commit crimes online egregious? If freedom is literally total, won't crime run even more rampant because it's their "right" to perpetrate it, or do you see this as an apples & oranges situation? If you see the 2 as totally unrelated, please explain why. businessavante"Who needs books? And other "archaic" things!
"Hi Barney! While I have never thought things were better (generally) in the past - that I wouldn't go back for anything - I do still like things I'm used to, and usually hate change when it means I have to change. I don't mind progress or improvement, and I do think many things are better now than 30-50 yrs ago. But Sunday I was at a family birthday, saw my sister's smart-device (about as big as a credit card), and the writing was so small I'd have to hire someone to read it to me, or use a microscope. businessavante "Subscribe
