Five Things You Can Learn About Running A Business From Your Mom.
"Very nicely-done! A good mother is also like a good chicken, she knows when it's time for her young to be eased out of the nest and to stand on their own. Unfortunately back until the first part of the last century, many mothers thought that age was about nine. Kidding aside, my mom knew I wanted a new Zebco rod and reel for the upcoming Pa. trout season when I was about nine. She had the money but told me if I wanted it I would need to get a paper route. I did, and I missed the season...I had to settle for casting in our backyard until the next season. But she taught me a good lesson. Thanks Mom!"What Makes Your Business Sellable?
"Good article Miranda. My grandfather built a huge, industrial farm outside of Cape Town, South Africa in the 1900s. By all accounts it was the envy of most farms there. My grandfather, approaching death wanted to sell it and split the proceeds throughout our family. His wife convinced him to pass it down to his son, my father's brother, who had a penchant for drinking rather than farming. He utterly destroyed the business before drinking himself to death (literally) in 1977. And with him went millions of dollars. My lesson: building a business to be sellable is one thing; knowing WHEN to sell it can be just as important. Oh, what I could has done with that $$$ :) Yoni"Get paid up to $6000 per month to market your blog
"I am wary, to say the least. $70,000+ per year to blog? Maybe a handful with names like Brogan and Kawasaki, but I just don't think it's realistic. If you mean people with ads all over their blog pages, they are the kind I click out of right away; it feels like I'm in Times Square, not a blog. I checked out the link-page that was provided in the article...I'm VERY skeptical. Respectfully, Yoni"Get paid up to $6000 per month to market your blog
"Dodge, I do appreciate the clarification. I didn't mean any disrespect, it's just that you hear a lot of get-rich-blogging things lately. I agree that indirect income is the best way to monetize a blog. I don't advertise on my blog, rather I use it to gain customers. Thanks for your additional commentary...much appreciated! "Peter, Another winner! I must ask you a question: You put a lot of images into your posts and your page still manages to load quickly. I put more than 2 images in my posts and my page takes 5-6 seconds to load. More than 3 images and it can take up to 10 seconds. Once I put 5 pics to be clever and it took a whopping 22 seconds. "Hi Ronika, Pretty cool article. "If you have a predictable sales model..." That sounds like a nice concept. I wish there was something predicatble about writing like a resume having a 3-month shelf-life. Then the customer would return for another. Unfortunately for the most part it is a one-off deal though sometimes you can get the package deal: "Would you like a corporate bio and an order of fries with your resume?" Regards, Yoni"Subscribe
