But I think the businesses that already invest in their permanent workers in this way (ie with an eye on their career development) are *also* investing in their temp staff. It goes hand in hand. They don't need to read my post. Before a business can get to this point, the first step is recognizing the basic value of their employees-the permanent ones as well as the temp ones. It's not pleasant when someone steals your work/ideas. It *was* time for you to leave... And there are other people out there who may need to suddenly quit their jobs to take advantage of an opportunity that would be lost if they stayed on in their full-time situation. "Hi Susan, Excellent post. A lot of businesses these days are going through an "identity crisis" as they try to cull more customers- and it seems the smaller the business, the worse it gets. Establishing a well-defined niche and then strategically branching out is definitely the way to go.
