9 Things to Communicate with Your Advertising Creative Team
"Hi Jessie, What a great list and a great focused look at creating an advertising campaign for your business. Does this kind of advice seem old fashioned in an era of social media and online SEO marketing? Shouldn't! Drawing attention to your product, service or brand will always be important, no matter what your tools. "3 Bs for Creating a Killer Advertising RFP
"Hi Jessie, Another great post on getting the right kind of advertising for your business. It can be really critical to get what you want and not just leave things to a hired advertising team. Unless, of course, your plan is to hire a genius whose work you love and give them complete freedom. This is a rare scenario, however, and I think you're usually better off starting with an idea of your own and getting the advertising team on board."Should You Pay Yourself a Salary or Dividend? 7 Considerations For Small Business Owners
"Ronika, As always, you give us something to think about. How you structure a business is probably almost as important as the business model itself. It helps determine how your business will manage resources after the money has been made."Charlie Sheen, Welcome to Twitter
"Hi Dwayne, I guess two questions come to mind. One, whether the popularity of a celebrity account, especially one belonging to a celebrity undergoing intense scrutiny via other media outlets, really says much about the power of social media marketing. Presumably it is Sheen who is drawing the attention and this is a completely different dynamic than in the case of an entrepreneur trying to spread the word about a product that is completely unknown. Two, isn't the investment in Facebook more like buying into a major media outlet like NBC in which all the contributors create their content for free as opposed to an investment into a property demanding more upkeep like, for example, your blog which would require you or someone else to keep contributing in order to make its maintenance worthwhile? I do not doubt the value of either Facebook individually or social media more generally, but I sometimes wonder if the areas in which these sites and tools draw the most attention are the least interesting things about them. "My Secret to Getting Things Done
"Hi Susan, Great post and thanks for sharing. I think the best advice you can give anyone, particular in a small business or entrepreneurial setting is to find the best way you work. After all, isn't this what we all got into entrepreneurship for in the first place. I think that sometimes lifestyle and other realities may dictate the way we work. (I have other obligations as, I'm sure, do you.) But even in this respect, it's great to have the luxury to structure a work life around your obligations and life rather than sacrifice both for a typical nine to five. "Subscribe
Best Of The Rise To The Top: Small Biz Trends' Anita Campbell
"Great interview David and Anita and neat to watch even for someone like me with an insider's perspective (to some extent though I wasn't there for much of the very beginning of the story.) I think it's very important for people to understand about the length of time often invested in building a business. Too often people become discouraged if they don't find instant success but very little about building a business is instant and the same for building community. Thanks so much for sharing the interview, David. "
