8 Daily Challenges to Quickly Turn Your Life Around - Wealthy Gorilla
"Dan, I think making connections on a regular basis is a bigger deal than most people realize. And often it benefits you in the most unexpected ways. I'm wondering whether you have a specific strategy for choosing people to connect with. Could you share that with the community?"How to Take Advantage of Huge Opportunities in India and China
"Gail, Thanks especially for the link to Kwintessential.co.uk. I suspect cultural differences are something to consider before even tackling language and technology barriers so that you can figure out where -- if at all -- your business can fit in. Still, the opportunities seem massive and diverse. It's a mistake to think that international business in these expanding markets needs to be left to giant multinational firms. "Why I Write for a Billion Blogs
"Nellie, Guest blogging has gotten a bad name, what with all the people who unfortunately see no advantage but back links. Of course, that's not the main value of publishing in related communities or on related websites at all, anymore than speaking to a local group is about handing out business cards."4 Types of Apps That Never Succeed
"Hi Rahul, I think we've probably got to accept your expertise on this one from a business perspective. In the case of point number 3. I think you're probably right to a point. So long as the app in question works, building one that is only incrementally better probably won't help. My question: what about apps that address a problem or need in a field in which there are many, many competitors, but none of them really work (for example, they don't have any support, are terribly buggy, really don't do what they claim to do etc.)?"3 Direct Mail Flubs Costing You Big Bucks
"Hi Diane, Thanks for sharing this with the BizSugar community. In the case of point number two, I think design can often be a pretty subjective thing. I'm wondering whether you or Joy could chime in here with some advice for marketers who are afraid this might indeed be the problem but just aren't sure. What can you do to check yourself and be sure you're not just deluding yourself in this department? Is there a way to collect feedback from your customers, for example -- I mean, of course, beyond the fact that they're not responding -- to isolate whether this is the problem or something else?"Could You Be Taxed on Perks from Your Employer?
"Hi Miranda, This has been in discussion for quite some time with the main focus being on companies like Google that so notably provide some of these "perks." Would company car rentals or even a free company apartment available to visiting executives or other employees eventually fall under similar scrutiny depending upon the arrangement? (I know of companies that have allowed employees to stay in company apartments for long periods while "getting settled" in a new position.)What is your take? Does anyone besides the government think this is a good idea? It seems like a potentially slippery slope for the IRS. And it "feels" discriminatory in the area of free day care, because this will absolutely affect female employees disproportionately. "Focus: Is Yours Helping or Hindering You? [Audio Biz Tip]
"Annmarie, I think everyone can relate to being distracted from being productive by such things as social media and email. Getting control of those distractions, of course, can be another matter. However, I think the real challenge can be figuring out which marketing campaigns, sales processes or even business models may not be working. Do you have a best suggestion for determining when a new product or service has become a hindrance? "5 Questions That Will Make Your Copy Awesome
"Hi Thursday, I realize you didn't write this and are simply sharing it, but I'm wondering if you'd agree with the assessment stated here. What are your thoughts? Does the best sales copy tell a story? And, if so, how can you make sure you're telling the right one? I'd really love if you could share your thoughts as a copywriter with the BizSugar community."Subscribe

"Hi Scott, My takeaway from your post is probably not what you might want it to be; but it's this: Personally, I love it when I look at a headline that isn't pedestrian and seems almost like a non-sequitur; however I find it's only effective when I know the context--the forum, website, platform--is specifically what I want and that it is moderated so that only content in my preferred niche gets through, much like your post here. So I know BizSugar is a small business social bookmarking site, and I know your work to some extent, so I know if you have a headline like this it's going to, in some way, be business related. IOW, if I found this title on some random, non-moderated site, I might dismiss it off hand as irrelevant. True, things aren't always what they seem or what someone might be looking for. I feel my takeaway from your post is just as valid as the part about email, so I guess the post is good on a couple levels. Great fun! Heather "
